1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Bid Swipe mobile applications, website, web application, live marketplace, communications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). “Bid Swipe,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Services. This policy does not apply to third-party sites or services that maintain their own privacy notices.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and profile information: name, email address, username, password credentials in protected form, profile image, addresses, and account preferences.
- Phone and verification information: mobile number, verification status, one-time-code activity, and records showing when and how consent was provided.
- Seller verification information: information and documents used to assess eligibility to sell, verify identity, support tax reporting, reduce fraud, and comply with law. A verification provider may collect some information directly under its own privacy notice.
- Listings and marketplace content: product titles, descriptions, categories, photos, videos, prices, inventory, live-show information, bids, offers, purchases, ratings, messages, chat, reports, and support requests.
- Transaction and fulfillment information: order details, payment status, shipping address, shipment status, tracking details, returns, refunds, and dispute information. Payment providers process payment credentials; Bid Swipe does not need to store full payment-card numbers.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we may collect device type, operating system, app version, identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, log data, crash information, feature interactions, referring pages, and cookie or similar technology data. Camera, microphone, photo-library, notification, and precise-location access is requested only when a feature needs it and subject to device permissions.
Information from other sources
We may receive information from payment, identity-verification, fraud-prevention, shipping, analytics, authentication, and communications providers; from other users involved in a transaction; and from lawful public or government sources.
3. How we use information
- Provide accounts, profiles, live shows, listings, bidding, purchases, seller tools, payments, shipping, messages, and support.
- Authenticate users, send requested verification codes, secure accounts, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Process and document transactions, seller payouts, taxes, refunds, returns, disputes, and legal obligations.
- Personalize discovery, saved content, recommendations, notifications, and service settings.
- Moderate content; investigate reports; enforce our Terms, safety rules, and prohibited-items standards; and protect users and the public.
- Measure performance, troubleshoot, improve accessibility and reliability, and develop new features.
- Send service, account, order, security, and—only with separate consent—marketing communications.
- Comply with legal process and exercise or defend legal claims.
4. How we disclose information
We may disclose information as reasonably necessary to:
- Other marketplace participants. Sellers and buyers receive the profile, order, shipping, and transaction details needed to complete a sale. Public profiles, listings, live video, chat, and ratings may be visible to other users.
- Service providers. Vendors may process information for hosting, security, identity verification, payments, shipping, communications, analytics, support, and other operational purposes under contractual restrictions.
- Business transitions. Information may be disclosed in connection with a financing, reorganization, merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, subject to applicable law and the special mobile-information restriction below.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, users, or the integrity of the Services.
- At your direction. We may disclose information when you request or consent to it.
We do not sell personal information for money. Where applicable law defines “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” more broadly, you may have additional opt-out rights.
5. Mobile information and SMS consent
Your mobile number is used for the Bid Swipe communications you requested, such as one-time passcodes, account-security notices, transaction updates, or separately authorized promotional messages. Consent for one category of messages does not authorize a different category. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. See our SMS Terms for HELP and STOP instructions.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide an active account, complete transactions, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet tax, accounting, payment, safety, and other legal requirements. Retention periods vary by data type and context.
You may request account deletion in the app or use the instructions at our account-deletion page. Subject to lawful exceptions, deletion removes the account and associated personal information, including user-generated content tied to the account. We may retain limited records when required by law or necessary for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, transaction records, chargebacks, taxes, legal claims, and enforcing prior suspensions.
7. Your choices and rights
- Account information: review and update available profile and account fields in the Services.
- Permissions: manage camera, microphone, photos, location, and notifications in your device settings. Some features will not work without a needed permission.
- Marketing: use an email unsubscribe link or reply STOP to eligible SMS messages. Service or legal notices may continue where permitted.
- Cookies: control cookies using browser settings, subject to essential site functionality.
- Privacy requests: depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or an appeal. Contact us and provide enough information to verify your identity and request.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Marketplace transactions and seller activity require the legal capacity to enter binding agreements. If you believe a child provided information without appropriate authorization, contact us.
9. Security and international processing
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. The Services and vendors may process information in the United States and other locations whose laws may differ from those where you live.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services, law, or our practices change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.
